Hey, world. I am really making an effort to blog more. Can ya tell? Helps that I can't sleep and am all caught up on my grading!
I was watching the travel channel the other day (which is dangerous) and decided two things.
A.) I think they need a female presence (ME!) on the show "Madventures." How do we make this happen?
B.) I am getting antsy to leave the country again, and have been scheming ways to make this happen!
Anyway, here's my latest modeling picture. Whatcha think?
Afro airbrushed my foundation on. Kimberly Steward did my hair and makeup. Tia dressed me, and Photo Sutra took the picture!
I said in my last (at least I think it was my last!) blog that I would also include some of my makeup artistry.
Here goes nothin'!
One of my specialties is a natural look with a really lush lip. I LOVE lipgloss, and get lots of compliments about it on me, so I guess it carries over as a focus when I do shoots or brides.
Here is an example of the natural look with lush lips!
Next is a slightly wilder shot, where I focused on the eyes (obviously!)
I also took some of those flowers and glued pieces to the side of her head, but I think it took away from the makeup a bit, so I prefer the first one. Gluing things to people's heads is always a good time, though! Haha.
Here's another really natural look I did. Someone commented and said that my makeup really matches the outfits well, which I thought was an awesome compliment to receive, especially since this particular shoot was for the clothing designer!
Here's another example where I got to get a little crazy with the eyes! They wanted something futuristic....
The next one, I am particularly proud of... It's of my girl, LL, and I did the hair, too! She TOTALLY rocked this shoot! Who doesn't love a good pinup look?
The last one for now is one of my faves so far, because it is lips! Haha.
How hot is that? I definitely have an idea related to this that I wanna do... Just need a photographer! (Yeah, I am going to be selfish and model this one, haha).
If ya wanna see more of my makeup artistry, you can check out my Model Mayhem Page and my list of more work! This is also where you can find credits for the models and photographers and hairstylists who were involved in the shoots above! Sorry that I was too lazy to link them all here! I know that every great image takes a team, and all of the images are credited on the above links, so check those out! And if you have a question about who anyone is, or how to get in contact with them to work together, let me know, and I will hook it up!
There are also the same two pages for my modeling work (MM, List) as well as my OMP page, if that interests you.
While we are on links, don't forget to follow me on Twitter! haha...
Oh, and there is more exciting makeup work and modeling work coming, including more gluing stuff to people's heads, a bride (who is one of my best friends!), more from the lingerie catalogue shoot, and a feature on a website! Yay!
Ok, time to throw professionalism completely out the window, and get to the heart of my blogs, which tends to be drunken adventure (hence this entry's title!).
Back to August!
One of my new things this Summer was taking pictures of giant shot lineups. Here is a very ridiculous one, of shots purchased by a man who seems to think it is his responsibility to buy me a shot of Jack every five minutes when I am present on a particular night, at a particular place that I will not mention.
And no, they were not all for me!
Next up (if you remember, I am just going backward through my fb albums now, to make up for stuff I missed!), is a picture that Ous and I took when he went to Db with me a random Tuesday night. Aww, Ous. I miss him. Such a great friend and sweet man. Truly a gentle giant! His season is about to start over in Hungary, so wish him luck!
Later on that night...
Some weird clothing situations started occurring.
First of all, Joe apparently lost his shirt. Shirt's overboard!
Then, it was decided that boys should wear girl's shoes. They are hot shoes, and I can understand why a couple of my guy friends could not resist. Had they been my size, I would've seriously considered running off with them!
I don't really understand that cross-legged pose. Is that what we ladies do? I guess I should be the last person to mock ridiculous poses, but still!
Speaking of ridiculous (apparently, I am speaking now?), which I usually am (speaking of ridiculous, that is, or at least typing about it), I have for you an absurd and somewhat disturbing action shot of Nate and Shawn.
Yikes.
Apparently that night was Steve's birthday. Steve is another person I miss. He moved to Portland to work with the Trailblazers. Happy late birthday, Steve, and I can't wait to come visit you!
My favorite author (Chuck Palahniuk) is mostly an author of fiction, but has written a couple non-fiction books. One such book is called Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon and is about many off-beat things to do and eat in Portland. Most of them sound so interesting and like so much fun, so I told Steve to read it and prepare for me to visit so we can have some adventures!

In the next picture, I made a rare appearance behind the bar, and took a shot with Maj, my good friend and former roommate. I miss her!
I also miss how good my nails looked for a few weeks following Cari and Matt's wedding, when they were really long (no clue how!) and recently manicured. Sexy! If I were rich, they would maybe look like that more often!
Sometime while I was behind the bar, the most infamous fun drunk in Milwaukee, Scott Sloan (who says I am the female Scott Sloan) hit his head on one of the liquor lockers in VIP.
Joe made an excellent nurse. Joe, if you are looking for a Halloween costume idea.... =P
Next up is Josh. When this picture was taken, a tipsy Maj kept exclaiming "You guys are so pretty!" Ummm, ok, Maj, thanks! You too!
And now, a picture of Mr. Scott Sloan at the end of the night!
I don't think anyone will ever know how or why he acquired and carried around so many straws. Oh, the mysteries of heavy drinking....
A few days later, Danielle, Jen, and I went to the Irish Pub, where several of our rugby-playing friends were being auctioned off.
Here's Joey Wiz....
And Buddha!
They made a bunch of money to help fund their trip to a national competition or something. No, none of us bought any men, but Jen and I both placed bids!
A few days after that, I woke one morning to a text saying that I had a facebook message from Pete Yorn. Whaaaaat?
Pete Yorn is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. Danielle and I have been going to see him live for the past seven or eight years, since our days in Madison.
The last (well, now second-to-last) time we saw him, we were randomly asked by some dude (who I believe was friends with the opening band) if we would like to go backstage.
Always ready for and adventure, I of course accepted, and Danielle and I went backstage at the Rave, which is (for the record) a pretty creepy place!
We were backstage, hanging out, eating snacks and drinking, when we see the man himself - Mr. Pete Yorn. Of course, we had to take a picture with him (sorry I didn't have the foresight to put it in here as the image. I don't mean for you to have to click around so much!).
You may notice in that picture that Petey's wearing a hat. Well, apparently this was a normal thing for him at the time, but he doesn't do it anymore. I could be the reason for this - I definitely stole it (he took it back after I wore it around for a while).
After we parted ways (both Pete and I, as well as the hat and I), we wrote back and forth on myspace a bit (Pete and I, not the hat and I - that would be amazing though!).
A couple years passed, and we're at August 10th, when I got the message from Pete on facebook. I was a little weirded out by the fact that we had never communicated on facebook and I never told him my last name, but I am not complaining.
We ended up meeting at Bradford Beach (which he was very impressed by, which is something, since he lives in Santa Monica - and he and his bandmates took a picture in front of it and said they were going to tell people they were in Mexico. He also mentioned the beach during his concert the next night!).
I almost had the band talked into going on the Monday night booze cruise, but they decided to take it easy on their night off.
I felt kinda guilty, because Danielle and I had definitely planned on getting tickets to the show, but we both forgot, and it snuck up on us, so when I saw Pete, I told him this, and he ended up putting us on the list at the Turner Ballroom, so we got in for free and got backstage passes (again - do I sound like Forrest Gump?).
Anyway, after the show and hanging out with the ridiculous drummer, we went to the Old German Beer Hall...
One of my friends met up with us there, because apparently one of Pete's songs was one of the first he ever learned on his guitar, and apparently he is a huge fan. He was definitely excited like a little schoolgirl to be there and meet Pete! Here they are!
And again, because that one turned out quite poorly!
Here's Pete and I....
And here we are with Danielle and Jamie! Yay! They are all so brightly colored! I guess I didn't get the memo!
Over Pete's shoulder is the shirt I bought at the show, which is super soft and comfortable. I asked him to sign it, and he wrote "Don't steal hats" and then signed his name and drew a silly face. Love it!
From there, we left Pete and friends and went to Decibel (of course - it was a Tuesday!).
Had to take a picture with my hubby....
And Tasha....
And throw in some dude.... haha.
Of course pocket square construction was a necessity, since Jamie and Scott Sloan were in the same building!
A very well-recognized pocket square, I might add!
The next picture just might be one of my all-time favorites of Jamie.
I have no idea what that face is, but I love it!
Farrah, Drew, and Fred... (I guess I was snap-happy!).
I really wish I knew what Jamie and Scott Sloan (yes, we always call him by first and last name together) were pinky swearing about!
The next night, my "little" sister came up to visit, and I cooked us all dinner. By "us all," I mean Danielle (my sister), Danielle (my roommate), and Ous and I.
When Ous walked in, the first thing he said to me was "I am leaving tomorrow. Don't get emotional."
Whaaaaaaat?! I am pretty sure I started getting misty immediately! I pulled it together, though.
Anyway, Danielle (roommate) and I decided that since it is not often that we have 6'10" Africans over, that we should put him to work. She needed her lightbulb changed, so we assigned the task to the man with the 7'3" wingspan (he still can't fly, though!).
Our ceilings are so high that he had to stand on Danielle's bed!
How silly does that look?
After dinner, we tried unsuccessfully to go bowling, and then (of course) we took pictures. Danielle (sister) always wanted to meet Ous, and I pretty much make him take a picture with me every time I see him, since it is so rare!
Look at how damn tall my little sis is! Jerk!
Ous has to lean over a little more to accomodate me!
Oh, and I am wearing my Pete Yorn shirt in that one - you know how it is when you get new clothes!
It must have been a week of family, because the next night, my mom came up!
We went to the State Fair, which was quite interesting!
First, she took me to a dive bar near the fair, which was SUCH an experience. Mamalicious always takes me to the nicest places! hahaha. I seem to recall a guy in the bar saying he needed to take up smoking cigarettes again. Is this a hobby and not an addiction? What an idiot! If you successfully quit, why would you want to go back? Lawd. Some people....
After roaming the fair and eating and doing TONS of people watching (always a good time), Mom and I went to the main show, which was the Spencer Davis Group, Gary Puckett, and Davey Jones.
Spencer Davis Group was good. I knew more songs than I expected.
As it turns out, Gary Puckett is quite the creeper! My mom and I kept looking at each other skeptically when we were listening to his lyrics. She even called him the "R. Kelly of the sixties."
"Young girl, get out of my mind,
My love for you is way out of line.
Better run, girl.
You're much too young, girl!"
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!
Wildly inappropriate. How was there not an investigation into his doings?!
Anyway, Davey Jones was actually hilarious, especially if you don't mind that the vast majority of his jokes were incredibly inappropriate and the antithesis of politically correct! He was making fun of EVERYONE, and he still pretty much sounded the same as he did when he was a MOnkee.
After the fair, we popped home to change clothes, and met up with Jen at Whiskey Bar. Following that, we met up with Maj and her sister (and her sister's friend) at Suite.
Here's Jen, me, Mamalicious, and Maj at Suite!
And Maj, her sister, and a friend of her sister's....
After Suite, we headed over to Decibel, and Ryan Braun was there, so I introduced him to my mom and we took a picture.
Our outfits almost look coordinated. Kinda scary!
Next day, Maj was feeling particularly affectionate toward her "brother" (on facebook, anyway), and was cuddling with him... See?
Doesn't he look so happy?
The following Saturday, I went to a wedding with my friend Doug. I think this is when I began my career as a professional wedding date. Haha.
Anyway, after the wedding, we went to Whiskey Bar, and I ran into my friend Broseph! Here we are!
I also ran into my friend Rebecca!
I got pretty lucky to run into two of the most gorgeous blonds in Milwaukee, don'tcha think? ;0)
My luck didn't last. At Cari and Matt's wedding, I scraped my elbow on a wall, and ended up with a heinous scab. At Decibel, which is where we headed after Whiskey Bar, a friend emphatically hugged me, ripping the scab off.
I wasn't really into the idea of bleeding all over, so I asked for a bandaid. Apparently, the last bandaid had just been used, so JJ crafted one out of a piece of tissue and a piece of scotch tape, MacGyver style! I was quite impressed! He is going to make such a good daddy... Here's the bandaid application....
That sucker stayed on for a long time (until I showered the next day!), and one of the best things about it was that it didn't feel like it was ripping my skin off when I removed it!
Since it was a Saturday, Streetz was spinning, and of course, I needed to do the traditional shoe picture!
The green and pink aren't really very nice together, but oh well....
If you think there is a DJ that works harder (read - sweats more?) than Streetie Pie here, please tell me!
Or perhaps someone dumped a bucket on his head?
It is one of my favorite things in life when someone orders Toppers Stix after bar! Here's Maj with our order.
A few days later...
Jamie and I went to the beach a lot this Summer, which was awesome. I went with a few other people, and when I did, it was relatively uneventful.
However, every time I went with Jamie, absurd things took place. Either we somehow found ourselves near people screaming profanities, families with hundreds of children (once all the children were in Bucks jerseys and one child may have only had one arm), seeing ridiculous vehicles, almost getting killed by flying projectiles, getting aggressively hit on by absurd individuals, seeing women with metal detectors, and so on.
Well, this was all trumped the last time I was at the beach with Jamie, and no, the reason it was the last time is not because of what we saw!
We were laying there, when suddenly, Jamie says, "Ummm... Look to your left."
I did as she asked, and couldn't believe what I saw.
You wouldn't either, so I took a picture. Whoa.
No, that image was not 'shopped.
No, it wasn't some picture I found on the internet and thought would be funny to pass off as my own.
It was really someone that Jamie and I saw just enjoying a nice, "relaxing" day at the beach!
Jump to a couple days later, and the ladies and I went to Vitucci's, then off to Decibel!
From left to right - Jamie, me, Lynzi, Maj, and Rachel!
It was our lucky day. The representatives for Red Bull in Milwaukee and Chicago were out, too! Here they are mugging with a sign from their brand!
Due to a ridiculous event earlier in the Summer, Jamie and I refer to Vincent as "all our friends."
So, of course we had to take a picture with him, and of course, we decided to make weird faces!
Love it! Apparently, I was feeling fishy!
Although Mo is much more than Elvis Crespo to me these days, I still often feel the need to take a picture with him!
Of course, once again, since Jamie and Scott Sloan were in the same building, there was the pocket square necessity....
Yep!
A few mind erasers later....
How big of a struggle is all this?!?!?
At the end of the night, we apparently acquired wristbands from somewhere, and were trying our hardest to convince Spencer that these meant we got free drinks. Seriously? Who were we kidding?
Next up? Jamie and Amber's birthday celebration.
Jamie and Amber have VERY similar taste in clothes.
Their birthday dresses were no exception!
Here they are getting their bows tied!
Awww...
Here is the group of ladies from Jamie and Amber's birthday at McGillicuddy's (where we went before Db).
From left to right: Jen, Amber, me (lucky girl in between the birthday beauties!), Jamie, Kayla, Hope, Hailey, and Christina!
Here are the birthday girls!
And Jen and Jamie....
Jamie and I... I am definitely having too much fun here!
Next is a picture that will be explained better later, but basically, Jamie and I are making fun of Jen from a pair of pictures we took where Jen was trying to avoid having red eye, and made a ridiculous face.
We are not great at mimicking the face, however, because to do it, we need to not smile, which is not our strength...
as you can see!
Trying again....
The next one is probably as close as we were gonna get that night!
P.S. I love how Jamie is often (always, maybe?) wearing black nail polish. I feel like it looks super cute on her, but I don't think I could pull it off. I have contemplated trying it, but don't want to bite her style!
Here she is with her hubby... Cute tongue action!
Here's Maj in Ricky Weeks' chain....
Jamie with Spencer and the birthday gift he got her!
Aww, how romantic!
We three ladies should not be allowed to hang out. TROUBLE!
The Raccoon Whisperer and Ola came out for the party!
Here's "Team Thursday." I was the drunkest person alive. I even was "DJing" (oops, a little soon for that!). Lawd. I think I could barely stand!
I have a crazy (bad!) habit of celebrating other peoples' (i.e. Danny Glover's?) birthdays way more than my own!
Well, it's bedtime for Bonzo! Be back soon!
